1. This work was Hurston's way of conducting a kind of social experiment. It was her way of seeing if the people of that day's society would accept the idea of an all-black community, whether or not the whites of the day would accept the idea that one day blacks might stand on their own without white help.
2. This was probably the most interesting thing that I have read out of all of the works presented here. It brought a different angle to the time period, one that I had never seen before.
3. Do you think that the white society believed that their former workers could've made society work on their own?
