I think that my favorite piece that I read over break was "Never Dream of Spiders" By Audre Lorde. It was just such an interesting piece and it really made me think about the meaning. I almost didn't want to write a reaction to it because I didn't have a clue what it meant, but it was just such an interesting poem that I didn't not want to write a reaction to it. They way she wrote it was cryptic and I loved that. It made me want to figure out what she meant. Though I also think that she threw some things in there to purposely be confusing. I also really liked the discussion going about "If We Must Die" by Claude McKay. It was interesting to read everyones different opinions on the piece, especially with such an inspiring poem. Even though the opinions weren't really that different from the last everyone had something new to add to the discussion. It was also cool to see some of the responses to the questions. Especially Paula's response, because I didn't get that opinion from the poem and it was nice to hear her opinion on the matter. I thought the project was cool and it was nice to connect with friends even though we're not in class together.
