After this assignment was completed, I realized that my favorite piece was definitely Ballad of Birmingham. I enjoyed this particular piece because it acted as a story and had both an interesting conflict and a surprising twist which kept me interested throughout the entire piece. Also that poem greatly represented the oppression of African Americans during the time that this piece was written. Another reason I liked this poem was due to the way it was written. Dudley Randall did a great job in making sure that the poem was a good read and kept it smooth throughout the entire read
